Modified bitumen, also known as polymer-modified bitumen, sheet membranes are composed of fabrics that are reinforced, which serve as a carrier for hot polymer-modified bitumen while it’s manufactured into a type of roll material. Modified bitumen, or MB for short, roof system membranes have a composition of multiple layers, and are installed typically as a two-ply system that are usually fully adhered.

Typically, there are two different types of modified bitumen roofing membranes:
SBS polymer-modified bitumen membranes are commonly installed in asphalt, hot moppings, or cold adhesive. Some of these membranes are self adhering, as a few have an adhesive backing. APP polymer-modified bitumen membranes are usually applied with a torch or welded with heat.

We work with multiple companies when it comes to products, solutions and accessories, especially for modified bitumen membrane roofing projects in Brooklyn and other areas of New York, such as GAF.
